This young lady is going places. She knows who she is. Her genuine smile and laugh in these photos is evidence of that. This is a huge reason why I have been so encouraged while photographing senior portraits. The seniors that I have had the privilege to photograph and get to know are respectful, kind, full of their own individual personalities, interests and passions. They are hard workers and are eager to learn and contribute to their families and communities. And this gal is no exception. Elizabeth is bubbly and sweet with just enough spunk to keep her parents and friends on their toes! She’s interested in the arts and education.
Elizabeth, if I could share one thing with you it would be this: who you are is so much more important than what you do. You can choose one of hundreds of great career choices, but God wants you to follow your heart – the desires that He has given you. When you look back on your life it really won’t matter what career you had. What will matter is whether you loved yourself and others deeply, and lived passionately for your Savior. I got so hung up on finding “God’s will for my life” at your age that I sought it religiously and beat myself up continuously. All the while I heard His gentle voice asking me “What do you want?” And the answer was already inside of me. He created me as an artist. One who sees and feels things much differently than most of the world around me. So Elizabeth, be YOU! You already know who you are. Trust God and don’t sweat the details. He has a way of bringing our seemingly out of reach dreams to life.
