Patrick & Emily’s backyard Maryland Wedding

Patrick and Emily were married at Emily’s family’s home in rural Maryland. It was a beautiful, DIY, and elegant wedding filled with lots of love and laughter! It was so special for them to have the wedding at a place that means so much to Emily and her family. Because it was at the family home the whole day was so cozy and welcoming!

One of the most touching daddy-daughter “first looks” I’ve ever witnessed! There’s no question that Todd adores his girls!

This beautiful arbor was built by Todd (Emily’s dad) and Patrick out of wood recovered from Emily’s great-grandmother’s home. Because it was so special, Emily was determined to have the ceremony outside even if it rained on them. We were blessed that the steady to pouring rain stopped just 30 minutes before the ceremony! It sprinkled a bit during the processional, but ended after Emily walked down the isle. The florals from the Flower Box II were stunning!

Emily and her family grew the succulents and plants for all the centerpieces the year leading up to the wedding!

Encore did a fantastic job of keeping the party going! Not only were they talented, they were so much fun too!

With all the rain and cloudy skies that they had for most of the day, the sky opened up and they were given the most beautiful and warm sunset!

 

What an honor to capture the wedding day of a friend! Our connection goes back to before our births since our parents were in the same birthing class together. :) We were born about a week apart and we ended up at the same high school and homeroom class together. I think I have a few funny high school photos in the archives of us and the other “November girls”! Ha! Wishing you and Patrick all the best and so grateful to you and your family, Emily, for including me in such a special day!
